Fred Frederick opened Fred Frederick Chrysler Plymouth on Route 1 in historic Laurel, Maryland in 1959. The garage is housed in what was the only service station between Baltimore and Washington in 1909. The building was a blacksmith shop in the very early 1900's. Through many years of growing the business, Mr. Frederick was also involved in numerous civic activities. His commitment to customer service, his community, and the business earned him the Time Magazine Quality Dealer Award. Mr. Frederick also served 42 years on the national dealer council and served as its chairman. Fred Frederick Chrysler was founded on the idea of treating all others as we would like to be treated. Mr. Frederick has a daughter and three sons who have been devoted to the success of the business. In 1995, they opened Fred Frederick Chrysler Jeep on Route 50 in Easton, Maryland. In 2001, they acquired Dodge cars and trucks at that same location. In 2009, Dodge, Jeep, and Ram were added to the Laurel location.

The Frederick family still continues to operate the dealerships on a day to day basis with the same philosophy that started over 4 decades ago - treat people the way you would like to be treated. Personal interaction is important and bigger is not necessarily better. You will not find voice mail or call screening. You will not see tricky advertising or sales gimmicks. That is why much of the business has been based on referral and repeat buyers.
